On Saturday 5th August, a team of YMCA Crewe staff and supporters will be attempting to walk the entire 34 miles of the Sandstone Trail in one day to raise money and awareness for YMCA Crewe’s work with people at risk of homelessness.
Starting at the YMCA Crewe building on Gresty Road in Crewe, participants will be driven to the start of the trail in Frodsham, ready to begin their trek at 7am.
Over the next 12 hours, they will cover 34 miles of varied terrain and spectacular scenery, with support from YMCA Crewe volunteers along the route if needed.
We will aim to reach the end of the route in Jubilee Park in Whitchurch by 7pm, where participants will be treated to much needed food and drink, before being transported back to Crewe at 8pm. Alternatively, participants can arrange their own travel to and from the event.
There will be an entry fee of £10 will help to cover the costs of organising the walk, and participants will be encouraged to raise sponsorship to support our work with people at risk of homelessness in 2023.
