Here at YMCA Crewe, we’re proud of our status as an Accredited Living Wage Employer.

The Real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum wage, and is calculated based on the real cost of living. The current Real Living Wage stands at £9.50 per hour for anyone over 18, compared to the £8.91 National Living Wage for over 23’s, and the £8.36 National Minimum Wage for under 23’s.

Becoming a National Living Wage Employer is voluntary, but YMCA Crewe have registered as we wholeheartedly believe a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

We want to play our part in ensuring people can not only afford their weekly shop, but can also save for those unexpected emergencies, like a trip to the dentist, or repairing essential household items.

As we support local young people wishing to increase their employability through training and education, we also want to ensure the world of work will support them, and safeguard their futures. More employers adopting the Real Living Wage will help achieve that goal.
