Seven year old Ella, a St Michaels Community Academy pupil from Crewe, has worked really hard to collect items and donate 48 welcome packs for new residents at YMCA Crewe.
Asking family and friends for donations, and using an Amazon wishlist, Ella collected toiletries, breakfast bars, tissues, and all the essentials someone at risk of homelessness might need when they first come to stay with us.
These packs will not only help to support the wellbeing of our residents, but being able to give someone a little gift when they arrive helps them to feel welcome, and know that someone is thinking of them.
Ella has been busy fundraising and donating to different charities over the last few months, and her hard work won her an award at the Dreams UK pageant in Liverpool last month. She’ll now go on to represent the UK at an international pageant in Orlando, Florida next year.
