Wendy Whittaker-Large has been elected as the new Chair of YMCA Crewe, after Bernard Clarke stood down at this year’s Annual General Meeting.
Wendy worked in children’s services for ten years before becoming a lecturer at MMU in the Early Years Department in 2007. She won the Nursery World Trainer of the Year Award in 2010 for her work in Early Years. After leaving MMU in 2013 she founded her own property business, Best Nest, and she now runs a successful mentoring and training business teaching others to do the same. She has been a Non-Executive Director at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Trust and is an accredited Methodist Local Preacher.
Wendy said ‘I am delighted to have been elected as chair of Crewe YMCA. At a time of immense need and political upheaval, the YMCA provides stability, security and certainty to many hundreds of people each year. Our mission is to value the unique potential of all people, to embody a can-do approach in our staff and volunteers and to maintain the Christian basis of our organisation. Of that I am duly proud and seek to serve and support the organisation to achieve this purpose’.
