YMCA Crewe has been commissioned by Cheshire East to provide a number of services that respond to people who may be sleeping rough this winter.
From October, we will be increasing the number of people we accommodate in our No Second Night Out service from six to eight. In November we will deliver a night shelter at a new location for ten people every night from November to the end of February.
Two Outreach Workers will be employed to find and work with people sleeping rough in the local area; they will utilise the Night Shelter and other housing provision to reduce rough sleeping, including provision for people with no recourse to public funds. We will link people to wider services in health, education and employment focusing on finding the appropriate housing solutions that meet individual need.
Kay, our Destinations Team Leader, pictured here, will be leading the project – if you need further information you can contact Kay on 01270 257673.
