The next “pop-up business” venture was a big step up for the residents! This time we catered for 50 hungry employees of Carillion-Kier. Besides the catering experience, the residents were really grateful for the networking opportunity as they were able to meet the Project Manager and speak to current employees about the apprenticeship scheme.

I felt shy at first because there were too many people but at the end I felt enthusiastic and definitely proud for representing the YMCA as it’s a good cause. It was great to meet the project manager and speak about possible apprenticeship opportunities – I’ve now sent off my CV!” – Joe Clulow
