Are you trained in Mental Health First Aid?

Do you have strong interpersonal skills?

Can you show empathy and respond non-judgmentally?

YMCA Crewe is a well-established provider of accommodation for people who have experienced homelessness. We have a 55 bed supported accommodation project in Gresty Road and other flats and houses in the area. We have a growing number of After School Clubs and parenting groups.

We are looking for a Mental Health First Aider to create a relaxed space for members of the public and residents to access a “drop-in service”, where they can discuss their lives openly, either in groups or one-to-one. The successful candidate will support individuals to identify where potential mental health issues may be arising and signpost them to appropriate support services.

This is a 12-month part time contract; 10 hours per week, at times to be agreed with the line manager (will be weekdays, between 9 am and 5 pm). The salary is £11.22 per hour.

We are passionate and enthusiastic about our work and love an energetic “can do” attitude in staff.

YMCA Crewe is committed to the active promotion of equal opportunity, both in the provision of services and as an employer of paid and unpaid workers.

YMCA Crewe is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Any offer of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and Enhanced DBS check.
